Lockton poaches Willis property leader with eye on top talent in London market

Global re/insurance broker  Lockton has hired a Willis Towers Watson executive to lead its international property business within the wholesale property & casualty (P&C) division, as it looks to “significantly” accelerate its expansion in this market.

In his new role in London, Andrzej Danyluk (pictured) will be responsible for developing and growing the international property portfolio of clients in close collaboration with Lockton’s international offices and partners.

Danyluk joins from Willis Towers Watson (WTW), where he led the international property team in Great Britain. Prior to working for WTW, he spent almost four years at Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT), where he latterly served as head of the power and renewable energy broking team.

Lockton has said that its wholesale P&C business has grown "exponentially" in recent years, and Danyluk’s appointment is the latest in a number of recent strategic senior wholesale hires to further expand its portfolio. The broker is looking to attract the “best talent in the London market” to help shape the next stage in a constantly evolving market.

Danyluk will report into Simon Scholfield, head of wholesale P&C, and will work in close partnership with Lockton’s international offices to support both new and existing clients.

Scholfield said: “I am delighted with the addition of Andrzej. We are now perfectly positioned to take our international wholesale property growth to the next level. Strategically targeted people investments in our retail space across the globe during the last 18 months have enabled us to significantly accelerate our wholesale offering. Andrzej’s depth of experience will enhance and strengthen our client offering whilst supporting the team in continuing to challenge the market with new products and lateral placement solutions.”

Danyluk added: “ Lockton is known for the strength of its long-term relationships with clients and the quality of the client service it provides. I am delighted to be joining the team during this exciting phase of significant international expansion, to support our new and existing colleagues around the World in further developing and growing Lockton’s strengthening portfolio of international property clients in London.”
