Lockton Capital Markets hires experts for insurtech expansion
Broker Lockton has hired two financial services and technology experts from Citibank and Deutsche Bank for its recently launched capital markets unit.
In September, the insurance broker formed the new investment banking and capital markets operation in New York under the leadership of Vishal Jhaveri as its CEO. The unit facilitates transactions focused on connecting business opportunities in the insurance space with alternative capital. It focuses on niche, high impact solutions for insurers and financial sponsors.
Ash Shah will serve as managing director and Femi Ogunjumo will be vice president at Lockton Capital Markets.
Prior to Lockton, Shah has held senior management positions with Citibank, TD Waterhouse Securities and NYSE. At Lockton Capital Markets, he will leverage his experience to facilitate growth of insurtech companies.
Ogunjumo has advised various corporate clients on a range of mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions. Prior to joining Lockton Capital Markets, he covered insurance and insurance technology companies at Deutsche Bank and Sherman & Company. In his new role, Ogunjumo’s primary focus will be on covering and executing transactions with insurers and insurtech companies.
“We are fortunate to have two respected financial and technology experts, Ash and Femi, join Lockton Capital Markets,” said Jhaveri, CEO of Lockton Capital Markets. “As Lockton Capital Markets expands into the insurtech space, their experience will help us to develop strong relationships to connect insurtech companies with capital markets.”
