Lloyd’s pushes for top talent and inclusion strategy with new leadership role
Insurance and reinsurance marketplace Lloyd’s of London has appointed a chief people officer (CPO) to further develop its diversity and inclusion (D&I) strategy as it seeks to attract the “very best talent” in the market.
Sara Gomez (pictured) has been appointed to the new role of CPO with immediate effect. She will focus on developing Lloyd’s talent, leadership and inclusion strategy.
Gomez joined Lloyd’s in July 2021 and was appointed interim chief HR officer and a member of Lloyd’s executive committee on December 1, 2021.
Gomez has broad and deep experience as a CPO from a career that spans leadership roles in the retail, commercial and financial sectors, most recently at the FinTech Greensill, where she created the People function during a period of high global growth. Before that, she was people director at Moss Bros, following seven years at Direct Line Group.
John Neal, Lloyd’s chief executive officer, said the appointment of a chief people officer comes at “an important time” for the Corporation as it looks to develop its talent and inclusion strategy.
“Sara is a proven leader, and in the short time that she has been at Lloyd’s she has already made a significant and valuable contribution,” he said.
Gomez commented: “I am excited to be continuing my career with Lloyd’s. It is an iconic brand and I can see a tremendous opportunity to develop our talent and inclusion strategy even further as we strive to make Lloyd’s a magnet for the very best talent in financial services.”
