Lloyd’s insurer Inigo plucks Chubb-Howden veteran to enter new business line
Lloyd’s specialty re/insurer Inigo is entering a new line of business by hiring a former Faraday and Chubb leading underwriter, most recently a senior advisor at broker Howden.
Jane Bennett (pictured) has joined Inigo to spearhead a new financial institutions (FI) team, under casualty and financial line.
As head of FI, Bennett will oversee Inigo entering a new sector offering D&O, professional liability and crime cover as the lead underwriter, writing primary and low excess across financial institutions worldwide, but notably in the US, UK, EU, Australia and Canada.
Bennett has held similar roles at Ace (later acquired by Chubb) and Faraday for over 20 years. Her most recent role was as a senior advisor at Howden Insurance Brokers.
Inigo said her appointment supports the next phase of growth for the company. The plan is to form a new team under Bennett to add further depth to Inigo’s casualty and financial lines, which launched in Q1 2021.
Craig Knightley, head of casualty and financial lines at Inigo, said: "We are absolutely delighted that Jane is joining Inigo to expand our industry focus and broaden our offering for D&O, whilst adding professional liability and crime.
“This exciting new line of business offers Inigo significant opportunity and is underpinned by demand from clients and brokers for leadership in this incredibly diverse industry group. Financial Institutions are at the heart of a dynamic global economy; we are committed to supporting them in their challenge and ambition with fresh capital and helping our major broking partners navigate a shifting marketplace.”
