Lloyd’s Council member Fleming resigns

Specialist re/insurance market Lloyd’s of London said on Oct. 5 that former Morgan Stanley executive Greg Fleming will be standing down from his position on the Lloyd’s Council as a nominated member due to work commitments.

The Council is responsible for ensuring that the Society of Lloyd’s acts in accordance with Lloyd’s Acts 1871 to 1982 and complies with the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.

Fleming has been appointed as chief executive officer of Rockefeller Capital Management, an independent financial services firm, and has therefore taken the decision to relinquish his position on the Council.

Fleming was appointed to the Council in March replacing Henrique Meirelles, who stepped down from the Council in 2016.

Fleming was previously the president of Morgan Stanley Wealth and Asset Management, and prior to that, the president of Merrill Lynch.

The Council of Lloyd’s stated that Fleming will leave immediately and the process to find a replacement is underway.
