Lloyd's broker Oneglobal targets US market with Bermuda move

Specialist independent Lloyd's broker and delegated authority expert Oneglobal Broking has set up operations in Bermuda as part of its international expansion strategy, appointing former JLT leaders Craig Douglas and Kilian Whelan to key executive positions.

Craig Douglas joins as executive director of Oneglobal Bermuda, while Kilian Whelan joins the business as COO. The company has received regulatory approval to establish a new office in Bermuda.

The move follows the establishment of Oneglobal's Singapore and Hong Kong operations in 2020, as part of the strategic build out of its international operations.

Douglas is an experienced broker leader with well-established presence across Bermuda and London. He has 20 years of reinsurance, casualty and life science experience in the industry, latterly at RFIB Bermuda, where he was executive vice president, having previously held senior roles at JLT Specialty in Bermuda and London and at Miller and Willis.

Whelan has over 25 years’ experience in Bermuda and the industry having previously led the JLT Insurance Management Group operations. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and a member of the Institute of Directors in Bermuda and London.
