Lloyd’s broker New Dawn Risk swoops for Aon/Gallagher talent in expansion move
Specialty liability and cyber Lloyd’s broker New Dawn Risk Group has scooped two senior hires, with background in professional risks and healthcare and life sciences, to further expand its capabilities and geographic scope in areas where it is seeing an “extraordinary period of growth and transformation”.
Sarah Khan (pictured left) joins the firm as head of professional risks, with Francesca Vernon (pictured right) as head of the newly formed healthcare and life sciences team.
Khan has 13 years of international experience in the insurance industry gained as a broker, underwriter and in business development. She joins New Dawn Risk from Aon, where she was a broking director. Prior to that, she was a senior professional liability underwriter at AXA in the US.
Vernon also has more than a decade of insurance experience in the healthcare and life sciences, and has previously held senior broking roles at Aon and Arthur J Gallagher & Co. She was most recently head of London Market broking at Lothbury, where she established an international specialty lines offering.
Max Carter, chief executive officer of New Dawn Risk Group, said: “As we continue to expand our capabilities, with a wider product offering and broader geographic scope, Sarah and Francesca are an ideal fit for our team. They are enthusiastic and ambitious, with the depth of knowledge that is invaluable in helping our clients to navigate the on-going challenges of the market.
“Healthcare and Life Sciences industries are seeing an extraordinary period of growth and transformation, and the risks faced by companies operating in the space are becoming more complex and unpredictable. The establishment of a new team dedicated to servicing the sector is a direct response to this developing need.”
