Liberty Specialty Markets nabs AXA XL’s Lloyd’s chief for new London role

Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) plucked the chief of Lloyd’s operations for AXA XL for a newly created post tasked with crafting and executing a full strategy for LSM’s London insurance business.

Luis Prato (pictured) will step in this December as president of LSM London with an assignment for “setting, owning, and executing the strategy for the London insurance business.”

Prato joins from AXA XL, where he has been CUO of Lloyd’s and UK since 2018. Prior to AXA XL, Prato was Head of Energy at XL Catlin.
