Liberty Mutual targets US middle market growth with top leadership moves
Liberty Mutual Insurance has tapped two new leaders with vast experience across all lines of business to help grow its book into a leading US middle market carrier.
The insurer has created a new underwriting leadership position to address middle market risks in North America. In his new role as Global Risk Solutions North America (GRS NA) chief underwriting officer, middle market, Dieter Korte (pictured right) will be responsible for underwriting performance across all middle market products. He will report to GRS NA chief underwriting officer Brandon Fick and the president of GRS NA middle market.
Additionally, Marc Orloff (pictured left) has been appointed as president of Global Risk Solutions (GRS) North America, middle market. He reports to GRS North America president Kevin Smith.
Prior to Liberty Mutual, Korte led CNA Financial’s middle market team. He has more than 30 years of underwriting and leadership experience.
Orloff most recently served as president of field operations and marketing for GRS North America, he was responsible for the delivery of Liberty’s commercial and specialty products across all lines of business. He also has prior experience overseeing underwriting, sales, and service as manager and chief underwriting officer for risk management and middle market casualty lines in the Northeast region.
Fick said: “Dieter’s strong leadership, experience and industry knowledge will help us provide holistic solutions to the complex and emerging risks facing middle market companies. He and his team will drive our continued success in this important segment.”
