Liberty Mutual appoints Safeco Insurance president
Liberty Mutual Insurance has appointed Tyler Asher as the president of its subsidiary Safeco Insurance.
Asher succeeds Matthew Nickerson, who was recently appointed executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO) of Liberty Mutual Insurance’s global consumer markets east region.
Prior to the promotion, Asher was Safeco’s vice president, distribution insights. He has been with the company for 18 years and served in a variety of roles spanning finance, accounting, management reporting and analysis.
Jim MacPhee, executive vice president and COO, Liberty Mutual US consumer markets, said: "The marketplace for personal insurance is rapidly changing and Tyler’s experience with agents, his knowledge of the industry and commitment to innovation will help us continue to grow our already strong position in the independent agency channel."
