Legal & General poaches former AXA head of regional broker
Life and general insurance provider Legal & General (L&G) has appointed Carol Hughes to the role of head of regional broker within its general insurance division.
Prior to joining L&G, Hughes spent 11 years at AXA where she held several senior management positions across personal distribution, including corporate partners and intermediary. Most recently, she was appointed head of regional broker, where she was responsible for developing and delivering AXA's regional proposition.
Kevin Roberts, broker and affinity director at L&G, commented: “Carol’s appointment illustrates Legal & General’s long-term commitment to brokers and our desire to build on our presence in the regional broker market.
"After such a successful 2016 where we developed Landlord products and launched insurer hosted pricing, Carol’s experience will prove invaluable to L&G and is testament to our investment in the broker home insurance market as we look to further expand our offering in 2017 with regional brokers."
Hughes added: "I am delighted to be joining Legal & General as it continues to build strong relationships with its broker partners across its home insurance division. Legal & General is one of the most well-known names in the industry and I look forward to working closely with the team in developing the proposition for regional brokers to further expand our position in the market."
