JLT joins London Market electronic placing platform

Broker JLT has joined the London Market’s electronic placing platform Placing Platform Limited (PPL), according to an Oct. 30 statement.

PPL enables brokers and underwriters to quote, negotiate, bind and endorse business using one market-wide system. The electronic platform was rolled out in July 2016 as part of the market modernisation programme London Market Target Operating Model (TOM), led by the London Market Group.

Having been actively involved in its early development leading up to the initial launch in July 2016, JLT has been encouraged by the progress being made, the statement said. The recent launch of version 2C of the platform with its added functionality has greatly increased its relevance to JLT, and led the company to believe that the time is right to now formally join the initiative.

JLT looks forward to playing its part in the continuing development of the platform, and will add its support to an initiative targeting not only efficiency improvements but also further enhancing the client service provided by the London Market.
