ISC Group appoints senior Willis Towers Watson exec as its new chair
The ISC Group, a body that facilitates the development of women in insurance, has appointed of Pamela Thomson-Hall as its UK chair and also unveiled new additions to its board.
Thomson-Hall is the managing director of International and CEO of CEEMEA at Willis Towers Watson.
Thomson-Hall said: “The gender agenda has never been more important for our industry given the pandemic’s disproportionate impact on women’s career trajectories and the industry’s sub-optimal representation of women in leadership. I am a passionate promoter of the proven, commercial rationale for all diversity being foundational to innovation and creativity, and as a driver of better business decisions and results.
“As Chair of ISC UK, I’m looking forward to supporting its existing board of experienced and committed industry leaders. Together we will shape the ongoing dialogue and build on the great work ISC has done so far in promoting the visibility and progression of female role models, supporting emerging and aspiring leaders and shining a light on the need to leverage simple tactics to effect sustainable change across the industry.”
ISC Group has also appointed Anita Fernqvist, UK Chief Date Officer & Director of Operations, Zurich Insurance, to its UK board to help develop the conversation amongst the industry.
Fernqvist commented: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the ISC Group UK Board after a number of years of contributing to and benefitting from the ISC as a member. As a passionate advocate for gender balance in the industry and the chair of the Zurich UK Women’s Innovation Network, I am truly excited about the opportunity this appointment gives me to join forces with passionate peers to truly drive change at all levels. Only in working together can we effect the much-needed progress within our sector, in addition to supporting and inspiring those yet to find their way into our exciting field. “
