Insurance Institute of London names Willis exec as president
The Insurance Institute of London (IIL) has named Nicolas Aubert, head of Great Britain for Willis Towers Watson, as its new president.
Aubert replaces Roger Sanders, director, workplace distribution and industry affairs at Lighthouse Group. Aubert served as IIL's vice president and then as deputy president for the past year.
Aubert serves as the CEO of Willis, the company’s principal UK regulated entity. He is the immediate past chair of the London Market Group (LMG), remaining a member of its board, sits on the executive committee of LIIBA (London & International Brokers Association), and is a member of TheCityUK’s Advisory Council.
Aubert commented: “The Institute is an essential platform as it supports the development of talent and skills of our 25,000 members in London across insurance and financial services. This development is vital for our sector as we need to increase our ability to incorporate new technology into the way we work without diminishing our traditional skills and expertise.
"We also need to build a diverse workforce that will help us to innovate. These are challenges that we must rise to and I am excited by the opportunity to ensure the Institute can drive the industry through such a rapidly changing market environment.”
