Howden swoops on top broker for a ‘significant senior hire’
Howden has made another “significant senior hire” from one of the world’s largest insurance brokers Marsh as it continues investment in its cyber proposition, building on existing expertise, and “attracting the best talent in the market”.
Sarah Neild (pictured) will join Howden in November, once her contractual obligations have been fulfilled, as head of UK cyber retail. She will report to David Rees, and will be based in London.
Neild comes from Marsh with over 30 years of experience in the cyber insurance market. She has held senior positions in the cyber, media and technology specialist teams at Marsh, where she is currently a senior vice president, working across a broad range of sectors including broadcasters and telecommunications companies. She will be tasked to strengthen Howden’s existing cyber proposition.
Neild’s appointment follows that of Adam Reed, who recently joined Howden to head its large and complex risk team, which services major corporates primarily in the FTSE 100/250.
Rees, executive director, who leads Howden’s cyber and technology solutions practice, described Neild as “one of the most experienced people in the cyber space” that will add depth and breadth to its expertise, making Howden “a formidable force in the Cyber and Technology insurance market.”
Sarah Hughes, global head of financial lines at Howden added: “Howden is committed to attracting individuals who have a relentless focus on delivering for their clients. The need for Cyber insurance is at the forefront of our clients’ priorities as cyber incidents increase in frequency. The Financial Lines business is committed to ensuring that our clients have the knowledge and tools to achieve business resiliency on their cyber journey.”
