Holmes Murphy strengthens team with P&C exec for new business growth

US insurance brokerage Holmes Murphy has strengthened its senior team with the addition of an experienced property/casualty executive to drive new business growth and renewal placements.

Amy Tanny (pictured) has joined the brokerage as a vice president of property casualty. She will be a part of Holmes Murphy’s placement team, assisting with carrier and wholesaler relations and strategy.

Tanny joins Holmes Murphy after spending 17 years with Cottingham & Butler. As the vice president of the risk management practice, she played a critical role in the development and implementation of risk management strategies and insurance programme design; driving renewal strategies; and recruiting, retaining, and developing talent.

“Amy’s deep and diversified risk management experience, coupled with her professional network and reputation, makes her an ideal leader to help us continue to intensify the growth initiatives within our Property Casualty division,” said John Hurley II, Holmes Murphy, president of Brokerage Services.

“Her competitive drive to win and retain business through her focus and understanding of her clients, her strong awareness of the marketplace, and her expansive technical insurance knowledge align with the culture and goals of Holmes Murphy, and we’re lucky to have her.”
