Hiscox taps new group CIO to ignite global technology strategy

Specialist global insurer  Hiscox has hired a new group chief information officer, who has over 20 years of technology experience and joins from C. Hoare & C.

Chris Loake (pictured) will join Hiscox later this year as new group CIO, responsible for driving its global technology strategy. Based in London, he will report to Stéphane Flaquet, group chief operations and technology officer.

Loake comes from C. Hoare & Co, where he was chief technology and operations officer with responsibility for implementing a number of critical changes in the bank’s digital infrastructure. He has over 20 years of technology experience and has led teams across a wide range of organisations including Close Brothers and Experian.

Flaquet said: “I’m looking forward to working with Chris when he joins later in the year. We will benefit from his proven track record of strategic delivery and leadership skills. Chris will lead an already strong team of 350 IT professionals, delivering innovative solutions for our customers and ensuring we make the most of the opportunities ahead.”

Loake added: “I look forward to joining at such an exciting time, as Hiscox uses technology as a source of competitive advantage, to evolve and improve the customer experience.”
