HDI Global streamlines leadership as it renews focus on Irish market

European industrial lines insurer HDI Global SE is streamlining its UK and Ireland leadership under the supervision of one director, in a move that will lead to the departure of HDI Ireland general manager Paul Moraghan.

The change outlines its strategy to renew its commitment to the Irish market. Over the course of 2021, HDI plans to expand its product range for Irish corporate clients with offerings such as construction and erection insurance, inherent defects insurance and telematics-based motor fleet proposition.

HDI said Moraghan will leave the business after ten years, during which he has played a significant role in developing its Ireland branch.

Claire McDonald has been appointed as the authorised representative for HDI Ireland.

The change aligns McDonald’s existing responsibility as the managing director of both the UK and Irish branches with her responsibilities to our UK, Irish and German regulators.

McDonald said: “We thank Paul for his dedication, commitment and for building up our book and our team. We wish him every success for the future.”

Moraghan commented: “It has been a pleasure to work with HDI over the last ten years and I am proud of what we have developed here in Ireland. I wish the team every success. I am now looking forward to investigating new opportunities that will leverage the depth of my experience.”
