HDI Global SE launches remote risk survey app
Industrial insurer HDI Global SE has launched a new remote risk survey app which will facilitate virtual risk inspections for customers affected by logistical contact and travel restrictions caused by the pandemic.
The app, which has been developed alongside German start-up HDI Risk Consulting, will allow engineers to remotely carry out on-site surveys using the camera and audio features of a typical mobile device or data glasses used by the customer.
Possible applications of the technology will include consulting on a construction site, assessing a transport or loading activity, and performing property surveys.
Oliver U. Vogel (pictured) of HDI Risk Consulting said: “The remote survey option is not intended in any way to replace on-site inspections, but rather to complement them as an additional service."
