HDI appoints ex-Aon/WTW talent to lead UK&I motor fleet underwriting

HDI Global has appointed a former Aon/WTW talent with 30 years of motor fleet insurance experience to lead its business in the UK and Ireland.

Phil Healy (pictured) to lead the motor fleet underwriting division of HDI Global SE UK & Ireland. Healy takes over from John Shepherd who, after 10 years at HDI, retires from the company this month.

In his new role, Healy will report directly to Stephanie Ogden, managing director, UK & Ireland.

Healy joined HDI in June 2020 as motor fleet team leader following time at Aon - where he was a placing broker in the UK & Ireland facultative motor reinsurance team – Aviva, WTW and RSA. He has over 30 years of motor fleet insurance experience.

Ogden said: “I am thrilled to appoint Phil as our Director of Motor Fleet Underwriting. Over the last decade John has built a profitable client-centric Fleet proposition, and we are therefore incredibly sad to be saying goodbye. However, I am absolutely confident that with Phil’s leadership our Fleet team will enter its next exciting phase of development and growth.”

Healy added: “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead this fantastic team into 2023 and beyond. John’s knowledge of and influence in the Motor Fleet insurance sector cannot be overstated, and it is a privilege to be taking over from him in this role. I look forward to building on the many successes of this team and working with our brilliant clients and broker partners, new and existing.”
