Guy Carpenter taps Aon's Shephard to lead international programmes business
Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter, a part of Marsh & McLennan Companies, has appointed former Aon executive Miles Shephard as managing director and head of GC Access, international.
Shephard will be responsible for overseeing all activities across the international division of GC Access, the company’s dedicated programme business unit, providing a range of transaction services and programme solutions, spanning carrier selection, re/insurance placement, capital market access, contract expertise and servicing, as well as analytical and modeling capabilities.
GC Access is focused exclusively on the development of fully optimised programme solutions that connect MGAs and carriers.
Shephard has worked in the specialty insurance and reinsurance markets for more than 35 years. Most recently, he was executive chairman, global MGA & portfolio solutions, at Aon Reinsurance Solutions. Previously, he was also head and founder of the LNA binding authority and programmes unit at Benfield. In addition, Shephard has held senior roles at SVB Syndicates and RK Carvill & Co.
Based in London, Shephard will report to Michael Jameson, president of GC Access and Kevin Fisher, chairman of Guy Carpenter UK, global specialties and London North America.
