Guy Carpenter swoops for Swiss Re talent to expand in Continental Europe

Reinsurance broker  Guy Carpenter & Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies, has hired a new managing director of its Continental Europe facultative practice from Swiss Re.

Vito Modugno (pictured) joins Guy Carpenter with more than 13 years experience with reinsurance giant Swiss Re.

Based in Milan, he will focus on further developing Guy Carpenter’s strategy for Continental Europe and enhancing client offering across the casualty and specialty facultative reinsurance arena. Additionally, he will have overall responsibility for the company's facultative business in Italy.

Modugno has held a number of senior roles at Swiss Re, most recently as lead of property/casualty (P&C) facultative solutions for EMEA. Prior to that, he was head of facultative casualty IIMEDI (Italy, Iberia, Greece, Cyprus, Malta and Israel).

Before joining Swiss Re in 2008, Modugno worked as a legal intern at the Connecticut Department of Insurance.

“Vito is a fantastic addition to our team and brings an incredible depth of experience and product knowledge to the role,” said Guy Carpenter in a statement.
