Guy Carpenter seeks expansion with three key appointments
Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter & Company, a part of Marsh & McLennan Companies, has appointed three new members to its executive committee in line with its strategy to deliver "differentiated value and experience" to its clients.
Neil Mayer has been named chief operating officer (COO) for Guy Carpenter, Lara Mowery has been appointed to the newly created position of global head of distribution, and CIO John Crichton has joined the firm's executive committee.
In his new role, Mayer will provide oversight of the central operations, client support services, marketing & communications and data strategy teams and lead the firm’s operating committee. Previously, he held the position of chief operating officer, North America. Prior to that, he was the global head of strategy & transformation, where he worked closely with the executive committee to define and implement the strategic direction of the company. Previously, Mayer was a senior member of the Marsh & McLennan M&A / Corporate Development team.
Mowery will oversee Guy Carpenter’s placement and distribution strategy. She will set standards for client/broker/reinsurer interactions, and see through all Guy Carpenter systems and tools that drive interaction with the markets. Most recently, Mowery served as the head of the company’s global property center of excellence, where she led thought leadership and execution of its property initiatives across the globe.
Crichton, the chief information officer of Guy Carpenter, will join the firm’s executive committee. He is responsible for leading Guy Carpenter’s global technology organisation and enhancing the technology function.
Peter Hearn, president and CEO, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Neil, Lara and John to our Executive Committee as they bring proven expertise and leadership to our strong team of industry veterans. I am confident that the new members will play a key role as we look to expand our offerings, services and value to our clients.”
