Global Special Risks promotes Tarr to director and appoints associate directors

Global Special Risks (GSR), an energy risk-focused managing general underwriter and a part of RSG Underwriting Managers, has appointed a new team of directors. Helen Tarr, previously GSR’s senior vice president and operators extra expense (OEE) underwriting manager, is now director of GSR. Connie Garrett, Justin Jenkins and Jeremy Fyhn have been promoted to associate directors.

Commenting on the new director appointments, Martin Hayes, who, along with Michael Johnson, serves as managing director of fellow RSG Underwriting Managers organisation Trident Marine Managers, said: “I am proud to introduce Global Special Risks’ new team of directors. They each have a remarkable amount of experience and knowledge operating in a complex class of business, and I am excited to have them at the helm of GSR.”

Michael Johnson added: “Helen has been with GSR since 2002 and has been a crucial part of GSR’s growth and development over the past two decades. After watching her tremendous career, I couldn’t be more pleased to have her step into this role as director. In addition, Connie, Justin and Jeremy are experienced underwriters and managers who have time and again displayed their expertise in this field, and they are excellent additions to GSR’s leadership team.”
