Generali France CEO to chair EcoFin Committee of Insurance Europe

Generali France chairman and CEO Eric Lombard has been elected as chairman of the Economic and Finance (EcoFin) Committee of Insurance Europe, the European insurance and reinsurance federation.

The EcoFin committee oversees the organisation’s work on regulatory, accounting and investment-related issues.

Lombard replaces Dieter Wemmer, chief financial officer of Allianz. Lombard has been made chairman and CEO of Generali France at the end of June 2016 and he is member of the group management committee of Generali Assicurazioni since October 28, 2013.

Through its 35 member bodies, the national insurance associations, Insurance Europe represents all types of insurance and reinsurance undertakings.

It is based in Brussels and represents undertakings that account for around 95 percent of total European premium income.
