Generali directors back CEO Donnet as investors take aim
Italian insurer Generali has said that the majority of its non-executive board members are in favour of re-appointing Philippe Donnet (pictured) as group chief executive officer (CEO) for a third mandate.
The non-executive members of the board of Assicurazioni Generali met on September 14th to discuss the renewal of the board.
The insurer issued a statement following reports that two of its biggest investors are keen on seeing a leadership overhaul at Generali towards making its management more effective and profitable.
Generali stated that "in light of this, the majority of the non-executive members of the Board have expressed their appreciation of the work undertaken and the results achieved by Philippe Donnet".
The company's board has taken note of Donnet's availability to remain chief executive officer for the next mandate.
