Generali could lean heavily on M&A in strategy reveal
Italian insurer Generali could put mergers and acquisitions (M&A) spending in priority position when it unveils a pending multi-year strategy, the company signaled on Thursday (December 2).
M&A and partnerships have proven crucial in "reinforcing our leadership in Europe & high potential markets," Generali stated in a social media post ahead of the mid-December strategy unveiling.
The recent acquisition of Cattolica Assicurazioni is hailed as a likely "perfect example" of how M&A has "strengthened our leadership" and "accelerated our business diversification in the P&C segment,” the company said.
