Fusion eyes global expansion in M&A insurance market with latest hires
Speciality insurer Fusion has bolstered its Asia Pacific underwriting team with a string of senior hires as it looks to accelerate its global expansion in the M&A insurance market.
Three senior executives, Danielle Eliatamby (pictured left), Lillian Chau (pictured middle), and Sabrina Chia (pictured right), have joined the firm as associate directors in its mergers and acquisitions (M&A) underwriting team in APAC.
Based out of Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore, the executives specialise in the M&A legal sector, and will lead the underwriting of M&A deals across the Asia Pacific region and facilitate the issuance of policies to buyers or sellers across a broad range of industries.
Eliatamby will be responsible for driving Fusion’s continued growth in the highly developed M&A insurance markets across Australia and New Zealand, as well as in Asia. She was previously a lawyer in Herbert Smith Freehills’ Corporate M&A practice group.
Chau will further expand the company’s venture into the North Asian market as part of its regional competitive advantage. Prior to joining Fusion, Chau was a corporate M&A lawyer at Norton Rose Fulbright in Hong Kong and Melbourne. She has significant experience advising insurers and clients on cross-border M&A transactions.
Finally, Chia will spearhead Fusion’s consolidation of its Singapore hub and add to the company’s continued regional growth. Chia has over 14 years of experience as legal counsel with global and listed corporations with presence across the ASEAN region in a diverse range of global markets. She started her career in Corporate M&A at Allen & Gledhill.
Katherine Simmonds, Fusion’s managing partner, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Danielle, Lillian and Sabrina to the Fusion team, as we strengthen our talent and steadily build our presence in strategic key hubs across the region. Our new colleagues are extremely well-regarded in their fields and bring with them strong expertise and a keen understanding of transactions from an underwriting perspective across their respective markets.
“With their extensive backgrounds and knowledge, Fusion is well-positioned to continue delivering best-in-class M&A insurance solutions and innovations for our brokers and clients.”
