Fully regulated crypto-native insurance marketplace Nayms unveils key hire
London-based cryptocurrency insurtech Nayms has hired a former Third Point Re senior executive as head of capital markets, as it looks to introduce insurance as a regulated asset class to the cryptocurrency market.
Nayms, a fully regulated, Bermuda-based marketplace for crypto-native insurance, will benefit from Zagoreos' (pictured) experience in hedge funds, ILS and most recently capital raising for new initiatives through his advisory firm Korthi Capital.
Zagoreos will be responsible for supporting Nayms insurance partners with their capital raising efforts and scaling the available capacity on Nayms for new programmes. The role will see him connecting with crypto-venture firms, hedge funds and family offices.
Nayms noted that Zagoreos has recently grown an interest in the digital asset world, being involved with a liquid crypto investment strategy as well as a fund platform backed by a sovereign wealth fund tokenising funds. He brings extensive experience in the traditional and alternative capital raising space having worked at Lazard, MAN/GLG and Third Point Re.
“Nick will bring a vast amount of insurance capital raising expertise to Nayms and our Nayms business partners. His successful track record of capital raising for insurance companies will be a huge asset to Nayms, helping us introduce insurance as an asset class to the crypto community,” said Nayms' head of business development Adam Adamson.
Zagoreos commented: “I am super excited to be involved with a company which will help bring the insurance and reinsurance space to the digital world. Nayms will be a key component in the backbone and trust of the digital assets space.”
