Former GenStar CEO Kevin Brooks dies of COVID-19
Kevin Brooks, the founding chairman, president and CEO of General Star (GenStar), died April 3 due to complications from coronavirus.
Brooks joined General Reinsurance Corporation in 1969 and served in many senior roles, including as the founding chairman, president and CEO of General Star.
Brooks also served as president of NAPLSO (now WSIA), the surplus lines industry trade group. Brooks retired as a Colonel in the US Marine Corps Reserve.
GenStar is a provider of excess, surplus, and specialty property and casualty insurance. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Reinsurance Corporation, a member of the Berkshire Hathaway Family of Companies.
