Female leaders set a milestone by launching new MGA in UK insurance market
A new managing general agent focussed on the UK care sector has been launched by MGA incubator NuVenture International, which was established by industry veteran and former Aon managing director Andy Colbran earlier this year.
Nivante is co-founded by Jade Knight (pictured left) and Melissa Kalsi (pictured right), two specialist, experienced female underwriters, with an ambition to 'make a difference in the care sector' by offering greater choice to brokers and clients.
“We are especially proud to have achieved this milestone as female leaders and hope our journey will inspire others to do the same,” said Knight, managing director and Kalsi, director of Nivante.
“Care providers have faced huge challenges and the pandemic has undoubtedly been one of the toughest challenges yet. We are dedicated to engaging with the sector and the regulators to continuously innovate and develop our products and services to make life a little easier for care providers when making their insurance arrangements," they added.
Available only through brokers, and partnered with A rated capacity, the MGA will offer specialist combined insurance products including liability, property damage, and medical malpractice to a wide range of care organisations involved in delivering specialist services to adults and children with a diverse range of needs.
Nivante is the second MGA launched by NuVenture. The first being a digital-focused, broker-only MGA targeting the mid and high net worth personal lines insurance in the UK, called Hoxton Insurance Services.
Colbran, CEO of NuVenture, said: “We’re pleased to provide a fresh insurance option to a sector of the market which is experiencing capacity constraints. Jade Knight and Melissa Kalsi are exactly the kind of experienced underwriters that we want to bring into the NuVenture group and I’m excited to work with them as they bring their new proposition to the market.”
