FCA reports 10% fall in motor and transport insurance complaints – FCA
The number of complaints about motor and transport insurance fell 10% to 248,460 in the first half of 2019, down from 277, 363 from the second half of last year, according to the Financial Conduct Authority.
The FCA reported that 57% of these complaint were closed within three days.
The number of complaints categorised as “other general insurance” also fell 10%, to 222,550.
Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) remains by far the biggest source of complaints said the UK financial watchdog. PPI accounted for some 2.1 million complaints in the first half of 2019, about half the total, and up from 1.6 million in the second half of last year.
Firms report the volumes of complaints they have received, using 50 different product categories, to the FCA.
