Everest Re plucks AIG leader to expand US facultative presence

Everest Reinsurance has hired a senior AIG executive for a leadership position in North America as it looks to further expand its facultative business in the US market.

Trevor Gallagher (pictured) has joined the company as head of US facultative, reporting to Anthony Izzo, global head of reinsurance distribution and facultative.

Gallagher will lead Everest’s US facultative business, focused on enhancing service, cultivating talent, and broadening its portfolio in the US facultative and hybrid market. The company said its Canada facultative business, led by Tom Butler, rounds out Everest’s strong presence and leadership in North America.

Gallagher has more than 25 years of casualty insurance leadership expertise. He was most recently executive vice president of national accounts for AIG, responsible for managing the specialty portfolio and AIG risk management business strategy as well as driving profitable underwriting results. While at AIG, Gallagher also led the major accounts primary casualty business as well as the transportation division.
