Everest creates new business segment with Chubb hire
Bermuda-based Everest Re Group has formed a new business segment targeting small, middle and large private/not-for-profit (NFP) companies on a primary and excess basis, offering innovative product and solutions across several industries.
The new business segment within the Everest Specialty Underwriters unit will compliment all areas of the company's financial lines division, the company said.
The private/NFP unit will be led by Salvatore Collura. As the vice president and national practice leader, Collura will be responsible for overseeing the underwriting operations and expanding its offering across the country.
Collura was most recently at Chubb, where he was a vice president in the financial lines division, responsible for managing and overseeing the underwriting operations of Chubb’s New York regional private and not-for-profit Group. He has over 17 years of experience in underwriting management liability, managing alternative risk transfer programmes, and implementing foreign professional indemnity policies.
“We are excited to have Sal join our team and lead this new business segment,” said Keith Lavigne, head of management and professional liability at Everest Insurance. “Everest is committed to providing innovative products and superior customer service to its customers and trading partners every day. I’ve known Sal for many years and I am confident that his leadership skills, strong relationships and technical acumen will enable Everest to successfully grow and strengthen its financial lines portfolio.”
