Everest boosts environmental leadership in US
Bermuda holding company Everest Re Group has appointed Brian Farr as the leader of its environmental unit within Everest Insurance.
Based in Everest’s New Jersey office, Farr will be in charge of expanding Everest Insurance's environmental product in North America.
Farr initially joined Everest in November 2015 as vice president in the corporate underwriting department from Aspen Insurance, where he oversaw casualty and environmental underwriting in Aspen’s US headquarters in New York City.
Connie Germano, head of Everest Insurance specialty casualty, said: "Brian has over 25 years of underwriting and national management experience with an emphasis on national and middle market casualty and environmental products. His prior experience, serving as a national product manager with AIG, ACE, and Aspen, and his track record of building effective underwriting teams, will be of tremendous value to us at Everest as we look to grow in this critical area."
The company has also hired Sean McVay as vice president and environmental monoline products leader, based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
McVay, who will report to Farr, will be responsible for implementing and growing the monoline pollution products segment of Everest Insurance.
Prior to joining Everest, McVay held roles with Navigators, AXIS and ACE USA, focusing on environmental underwriting and management. McVay began his career in Seattle working for Marsh and AIG.
Farr commented: "Sean’s 21 years of diverse experience in both insurance brokerage, and underwriting, coupled with his strong broker relationships, will provide balance and depth to the expanded appetite of Everest Insurance Environmental. We’re very excited to have him join the team."
