Everest appoints new head of management liability unit ESU

Everest Insurance has named Robert Clark as senior vice president and head of Everest Specialty Underwriters (ESU).

He will be responsible for leading the growth and management of the ESU business segments, including financial and professional lines, alternative solutions (transactional liability & private equity), political risk & trade credit, and surety.

Clark has been a key leader at Everest since joining the organisation in October 2015 as vice president, head of alternative solutions. During his tenure, he is said to have built out the division’s global transactional risk and private equity industry practice groups.

Clark will continue to be based in the company’s New York City office, reporting to Mike Karmilowicz, president and CEO of Everest Insurance.

Karmilowicz said: “With nearly two decades in the industry, Rob has a proven track record of results-driven success both throughout his career and in his time here at Everest. His leadership, diverse skillset, experience managing international teams and background in both the Financial Lines and Credit sectors make him an ideal candidate for this position.

"I am confident that Rob will continue to drive strategic growth and profitability as we continue to expand and diversify our specialty lines both domestically and across the globe.”
