Everest adds to risk management casualty unit in US

Everest Insurance, the specialty insurance division of Bermuda-based Everest Re Group, has appointed Vahan Paretchan as vice president and East region leader for the risk management casualty division, which provides primary casualty solutions to customers in the large account marketplace.

In his new role, Paretchan will oversee a team of underwriters who are operating in various Everest offices along the East Coast. He will be based out of the company’s Philadelphia office, reporting to Christopher McKeon, senior vice president and head of risk management & commercial casualty.

Paretchan joined Everest in 2017 in its commercial casualty unit, based out of Los Angeles. Prior to that, he built his insurance career on the broker and carrier sides of the industry in both the Philadelphia and Los Angeles areas.

McKeon said: “With the rich pool of talent that Everest enjoys, we are very excited to recognise Vahan’s contributions, which have been instrumental to our growth in the primary casualty space, and we look forward to seeing all that he accomplishes with these expanded responsibilities. The large account space is a core focus for Everest, and Vahan will play an important role as we continue to bring unique services and solutions to this segment of the market.”
