Endurance poaches from Axis and Swiss Re to launch E&S transport product

Bermuda-based Endurance Specialty Holdings has hired senior executives from Axis and Swiss Re to help it launch a new excess casualty product for commercial transportation clients.

The E&S excess casualty transportation product will target US based companies, including mid-size trucking fleets, shuttle and van services.

Endurance has hired Eric Yatteau as senior vice president of E&S excess casualty transportation, and two vice presidents, Dale Painter and Talbott Thompson, to lead its E&S transportation team. All three will be based in Endurance's Alpharetta, Georgia office.

The new product will be underwritten under the leadership of Yatteau. He will report to executive vice president Jarrett Long.

Yatteau joins Endurance from Axis Insurance, where he was the senior vice president of excess casualty. Painter also joins from Axis Insurance and Thompson from Swiss Re.

Long said, "I am extremely pleased to welcome the E&S transportation team to Endurance. The strength of Eric, Dale and Tal's collective experience and relationships with respect to lower-attaching transportation accounts is a natural complement to our current E&S Excess Casualty business.

“This initiative adds an important and timely capability to our product offering and has been very well received by our wholesale transportation broker partners."

Chris Sparro, chief executive officer of Endurance US Insurance, added: "This is another strategic addition for Endurance as we continue to grow and diversify our portfolio to best meet our clients' needs.

“With deep technical expertise and a meaningful trading partner network, this management team brings a wealth of commercial transportation knowledge to Endurance. I am very pleased that we were able to attract these talented professionals to Endurance."
