Endeavour to establish new technology and cyber facility
Lloyd’s broker Endeavour Insurance Services is launching a new technology and cyber facility to be headed by Tony Loizides.
Loizides has 28 years of insurance experience, largely focused in the North American markets, in all specialty lines including professional indemnity, directors and officers liability insurance (D&O), financial lines and healthcare, with a particular focus on technology and cyber.
Loizides began his insurance career in 1989 at broker Sedgwick, and then moved to First City Partnership and HSBC Insurance Brokers. In 2010, he joined specialist Lloyd’s broker Safeonline as head of broking where he was responsible for insurance lines such as cyber, financial, professional and intellectual property.
The creation of the Endeavour's cyber facility will predominantly be managed via an online portal, and will provide multiple opportunities for managing general agents (MGAs), allowing brokers and clients in the US and Canada to generate new business streams in the North American specialty lines space, according to the statement.
David Lawrence, CEO of Endeavour Insurance Services, said: “This is the next step in the growth of Endeavour with an exciting new business offering to an arena where organisations may not have immediate access to this class of insurance. Given recent events, Cyber protection is fast becoming a major consideration in future risk management. The project to develop cyber in this way is a medium-term investment for us and I am delighted that somebody with such understanding and class knowledge as Tony Loizides has bought into the Endeavour story.
“We expect that by creating an online platform to address the SME cyber space, there will also be offline mid-market opportunities that we can develop and look to build something around, in order to facilitate easier management of risks,” Lawrence added.
