Ed Bermuda continues expansion with divisional head hire
Ed, a global reinsurance, wholesale and specialty broker, has appointed Colin Kelley as head of Ed’s new liability division in Bermuda. Effective immediately, Kelley will lead the professional lines, casualty and healthcare teams.
Kelley brings more than 16 years of both underwriting and broking experience to the business. He joins from Sompo International where he held the role of commercial lines practice leader, professional lines since 2010. Prior to this, he held various roles on the Marsh FINPRO teams in both Bermuda and New York.
Chris Bonard, CEO Ed Bermuda, said: “When we launched Ed in Bermuda seven months ago, we made a commitment to build a leading-edge brokerage firm and attract the best talent possible and I am proud of the progress we have made so far. We have attracted some of the industry’s leading insurance specialists and can now offer our clients a broad range of products.
“We are continuing this focus throughout 2020 and setting our sights on the reinsurance opportunity that lies ahead. We’re acutely aware that customers and insurance personnel are gradually being left with less and less choice. That’s why I believe our launch on the island is so well timed. We are continuing to build a long term, independent solution that has a fresh perspective on what’s important to our clients and colleagues.”
Kelley said: “Ed is building a dynamic Bermuda team and product offering - I am excited to be involved from the ground level. Utilising innovative technology, we will be providing our clients unparalleled access to the well-established Bermuda marketplace, while generating a new stream of diversified business to our carrier partners.”
