E-trading risk platform Whitespace creates new broker and insurers forum

Lloyd's-approved digital e-trading risk platform for brokers and insurers, Whitespace, has established a new forum for engaging with global market practitioners.

The aim is to promote collaboration and explore solutions to common challenges faced by brokers and carriers when implementing e-trading.

Whitespace's new customer operational board will bring together representatives from the insurance industry who will meet quarterly, creating a senior operations-focused community.

The group members include David Felton - director of global markets and Eurasia at Chubb, Paddy Riordan - projects officer for strategic initiatives at Munich Re, Chris Read - COO at AXA XL, Steve Jolley - group CIO at Tysers, Nate Mathis - COO at THB, Carl Smith - operations director at UIB, Paula Duplock - director of compliance at Meridian Risk Solutions, Simon Gaffney - CIO at McGill & Partners), and Allan Shallcross - head of operational services at Ascot.

Whitespace was authorised for "unlimited use at Lloyd’s" earlier in July for electronic placing mandate for managing agents.

Marcus Broome, chief platform officer at Whitespace, said: “One of our main aims at Whitespace is to promote efficiency wherever possible while retaining the collaborative heart of the industry. By forming this group we hope to engage further with the Whitespace community, bringing together high level operational expertise to advise and inform the platform’s immediate direction so that it remains highly responsive to our customers’ needs.”
