DWF bolsters insurance division with trio of hires

Law firm DWF has recruited Nicola Critchley and two other senior members of Horwich Farrelly to boost its costs business and insurance division.

Critchley will be joined by Anna Poynton and Rob Bennett who will arrive in September 2020. The team will join DWF Costs, part of the Connected Services division, but will also have an additional remit in DWF's Insurance division.

Critchley was previously head of costs at Horwich Farrelly. She is also a member of the Civil Justice Council (CJC) and sits on the Civil Procedure Rule Committee (CPRC). In addition to this, Critchley previously served on the Forum of Insurance Lawyers' (FOIL) National Committee.

Simon Murray, partner and head of costs at DWF, commented: "Nicola has been a leader in the costs litigation arena for almost 20 years. Her arrival, along with that of Anna and Rob, adds significant depth to our already expert 60-strong team, as well as the wider Connected Services cohort. It also reinforces DWF Costs' position as the market leader in the provision of legal costs advice and services delivered by our team from 6 UK locations and our office in Dublin."

Glyn Jones, CEO of DWF's insurance division, added: "I am delighted to welcome Nicola, Anna and Rob to DWF. Nicola brings a wealth of experience and her involvement with the CJC, CPRC and FOIL will complement the work undertaken for our Insurance clients and her understanding of the sector, and client-focused approach, will further enhance our division's proposition."
