Direct Insurance restructures Aventum to create distinct broking and underwriting units
Direct Insurance, the independent, international re/insurance group, has restructured and rebranded Aventum to unify its UK and international teams into one combined global insurance group with distinct underwriting and broking business units.
Consilium becomes Aventum’s international speciality wholesale reinsurance broker, while Rokstone becomes its international speciality re/insurance MGA, bringing together its global underwriting operations.
In the UK, Direct Insurance London Market (DILM) changes its name to Consilium, becoming the international broker’s UK operation. Consilium has further offices in Asia and vowed to broaden its international footprint in all the major insurance hubs of the world via acquisitions financed by its multi-million-pound war chest and an existing pipeline of acquisitions already in progress.
Aura Underwriting, iSure, iFarm, Rokstone Construction Risk Underwriters and Novus Underwriting all become part of Rokstone.
Consilium and Rokstone together are centred under one homogeneous brand, Aventum, which currently places over $600 million in gross written premiums worldwide.
David Bearman, group chief executive and owner of Aventum, emphasised the business’ entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to push boundaries. The restructuring comes after 25 years in which the business has built a number of individual specialty businesses, he added.
“We are fit, agile, focussed and ready for the next stage in our journey to become the best global re/insurance speciality wholesale business in the world,” he said.
