Dale draws industry leader to target growth in property insurance
Lloyd's syndicate Dale Underwriting Partners has expanded its property insurance team with a senior hire who has led portfolios at both insurers and brokers in the London market and US, including ArgoGlobal, JLT and RK Harrison.
Marcus Turner (pictured) joins the firm as a class underwriter for property insurance, effective January 2022. He will report to Ian Bridge, deputy active underwriter at Dale.
Turner will be responsible for building out Dale’s property open market business, which it says is an “area of expected growth” for the syndicate in 2022.
Turner joins from his most recent role as head of property D&F at ArgoGlobal, having joined the company in 2011 as an underwriter. At ArgoGlobal, his focus was on writing a portfolio of medium to large US property risks.
Turner brings with him 30 years’ experience in property insurance as both a broker and an underwriter, and has significant knowledge of the London market. He spent the first 20 years of his career as a broker with JLT and RK Harrison, focusing on the placing and servicing of medium to large US property clients including the setting up of RK Harrison’s North American property department in Bermuda.
Bridge said: “I am extremely pleased to announce Marcus’ appointment, he is a highly-knowledgeable industry professional. His extensive experience in property will be a major asset as we continue to expand our open market business in 2022.”
Turner added: “I am delighted to be joining Dale Underwriting Partners, a well-respected and entrepreneurial company that provides an exceptional underwriting service to clients and brokers alike. I look forward to working with Ian and his fantastic team at this exciting point in the company’s history.”
