DAC Beachcroft builds international aviation practice with senior appointment
International law firm DAC Beachcroft has further expanded its international aviation practice with the immediate appointment of aviation lawyer Hermanto Moeljo as a senior associate, based in the firm’s Singapore office.
Indonesian qualified Moeljo, who most recently worked at Clyde & Co, has specialised in aviation work for over eight years, advising insurers, reinsurers and brokers in London, Singapore and Jakarta on a range of aviation-related issues and cases. Prior to this, he spent several years as a commercial litigator at some of Jakarta’s leading law firms.
“This appointment is building on the momentum that began last summer with the appointment of London-based Alex Stovold as partner and Head of Aviation,” said Helen Faulkner, head of insurance at DAC Beachcroft. “Since Alex joined, we have expanded our offering in the UK and now, in appointing Hermanto, we have set down a clear marker of our commitment to building both our aviation expertise and our global insurance practice in response to our international clients’ requirements. We’re delighted to welcome Hermanto to DAC Beachcroft.”
Alex Stovold, head of aviation, commented: “Bolstering our capabilities in Singapore strengthens our presence in a key market for insurers. We see real opportunities, not only to support our clients better in the Asia-Pacific region, but also to grow our market share there.”
Julian Teoh, partner and head of DAC Beachcroft Singapore, added: “Hermanto’s arrival is an exciting step in the further growth of our global footprint, as we look to expand in Singapore and develop a presence in Indonesia. Hermanto’s strong knowledge of, and connections with, the Indonesian insurance and legal markets will be invaluable.”
DACB’s Aviation team provides advice to airlines, general aviation operators, airports, MROs, ground handling companies, aviation security companies and product manufacturers in both the civilian and defence spheres.
