Cowbell Cyber ‘expanding on all fronts’; hires CTO after $100m Series B
SME cyber insurance provider Cowbell Cyber has made a key leadership hire on the heels of its recent $100 million series B funding round, as the company looks to expand on all fronts.
Joshua Chan (pictured) has joined the firm as chief technology officer (CTO) to help drive forward Cowbell's technology and innovative approach to cyber insurance.
Chan was previously the vice president of engineering at Zimperium, has a deep understanding of the cyber landscape and the risks companies and consumers are currently facing.
Cowbell said Chan’s addition bolsters its technological vision and orchestration of its platform in collaboration with the insurance product roadmap and engineering operations. His leadership will be “essential” in rapidly digitising broad distribution networks, refining risk assessment models and increasing underwriting innovation.
Cowbell entered the cyber insurance market in 2019 with the ambition to “revolutionise cyber insurance” using data, AI and modern technologies. The company claims to have developed the largest cyber insurance distribution network in the US with more than 14,000 producers and has grown its monitored risk pool to more than 23 million businesses – 70% of the SME US market.
“We are pleased to welcome Joshua as our next Cowbeller,” said Jack Kudale, founder and CEO of Cowbell Cyber. “As we enter the second wave of cyber insurance growth, Joshua's deep tech experience will no doubt help us remain a leader in the innovation required to take cyber insurance to the next level.”
Chan commented: “I am looking forward to contributing to Cowbell's increasing growth. My number one focus is ensuring Cowbell will continue to scale its platform, processes, and innovation.”
