Consilium expands in Channel Islands with new hire

Re/insurance broker  Consilium, a part of the Aventum Group, has hired a new associate to grow its presence across the Channel Islands and other key financial hubs, including Cayman and Ireland.

James Read (pictured) joins Consilium’s professional & executive risk solutions team, which manages professional and financial lines and cyber insurance globally for direct policyholder clients and retail and wholesale broking partners.

Based in its Guernsey office, Read will lead the sales strategy for the team to expand its presence across the Channel Islands.

Read has 16 years’ experience in sales and marketing across a wide range of industries, including finance, trust and fiduciary, marine, and sports and entertainment. He spent nearly nine years at Specsavers, latterly as head of sports sponsorship and two years as group head of marketing for Southern Spars.

Consilium said that since its launch last year, its professional and executive risk solutions team has outperformed its ambitious targets, achieving double the budgeted revenue. It expects to exceed that growth rate in 2024.
