Compre appoints former Lloyd's president, Hamilton CFO for US expansion
Bermuda-domiciled international legacy group Compre has appointed a former Lloyd’s president and SRS/Hamilton senior leader to its board of directors, as it looks to grow and capitalise on opportunities in the retrospective reinsurance market in North America.
LoriAnn Lowery-Biggers and Jonathan Reiss will join Compre as independent non-executive directors of its holding company in Bermuda, subject to regulatory approval.
Lowery-Biggers has more than 25 years of experience in the global finance and insurance industries, most notably as president of Lloyd’s of London, North America. Additionally, she has held various executive roles at The Navigators Group, serving as president of its commercial insurance company, president of field operations and chief marketing officer. Lowery-Biggers is also lead independent director of Brown & Riding Insurance Group, a non-executive director of BMS Investment Holding Company and BMS Re, and Copper Point Mutual Holding Company.
Reiss has more than 30 years of insurance industry experience and is currently managing director of Strategic Risk Solutions Bermuda, where he is responsible for re/insurance business development. Reiss joined SRS from Hamilton Insurance Group where he served most recently as president of strategic partnerships, having joined the company as chief financial officer in 2013. Prior to that, he was a partner at EY, leading its Bermuda, Bahamas and Cayman insurance practices.
Compre Group CEO, Will Bridger said: “I am delighted to welcome LoriAnn and Jonathan to Compre’s board, joining our chairman, Emmanuel Clarke and independent non-executive director, Anup Seth, and further strengthening Compre’s governance. They both bring deep commercial and technical insurance experience and knowledge, which will be extremely valuable to Compre as we continue to grow and capitalise on the opportunities present in retrospective reinsurance, notably in North America. I look forward to working with them.”
