CNA Hardy appoints head of new specialty business unit
Specialist commercial insurer CNA Hardy has appointed Rhonda Buege as head of specialty business unit.
The new business unit will comprise all existing healthcare and specialty line products across both company and Lloyd’s platforms.
Reporting to chief underwriting officer Patrick Gage, Buege will be responsible for CNA Hardy’s specialty product portfolio across the UK, Europe, Canada and Asia.
Buege joined CNA’s healthcare business in New York in 2002 and held a variety of underwriting and management roles. In 2007, she moved to the London operation to build a healthcare business across the UK and Continental Europe. She later led the technology and cyber business in addition to her existing responsibilities and launched CNA's healthcare capabilities on the Lloyd’s platform in London and Singapore.
Gage commented: “Rhonda has significant experience and a proven track record of building profitable businesses and highly effective teams, having held numerous leadership roles during her career and I am delighted that we can leverage her underwriting expertise as well as her strong broker relationships across the globe to build out our proposition and capabilities in this manner.”
Buege added: “The merging of these two business units enables closer alignment of our existing specialty products and services with our customer proposition across the globe, whilst leveraging existing product synergies to drive improved underwriting performance as well as an enhanced customer experience.”
