Chubb reveals new LatAm head of P&C following departure
Property/casualty insurer Chubb has appointed a new P&C leader for its general insurance operations in Latin America.
Marc Poliquin will become senior vice president and head of property and casualty for Latin America. He succeeds Pablo Korze, who will leave the company to pursue other opportunities.
In his new role, he will have oversight of product, business development, underwriting operations, and overall profit and loss performance for Chubb’s property and casualty insurance businesses in the region.
Poliquin will report to Marcos Gunn, senior vice president of Chubb Group and regional president of Latin America, and Timothy O’Donnell, vice president of Chubb Group and division president, commercial property and casualty, Overseas General Insurance.
Poliquin was most recently senior vice president, professional indemnity product head at Chubb. He has more than 27 years of insurance industry experience. He joined the company, then named ACE, in 2004 and has served in a number of senior management roles in the commercial property and casualty business. Prior to joining Chubb, he held a variety of roles at GE Capital.
Gunn said: “Marc has the ideal background to lead our property and casualty business. His experience and proven track record in specialty P&C, reinsurance, and underwriting, coupled with his knowledge of the Latin America region, make him a perfect fit for this role. I look forward to working with Marc to continue the success we have experienced to date.”
Juan Luis Ortega (pictured), executive vice president of Chubb Group and president of Overseas General Insurance, added: "Marc's appointment further demonstrates Chubb’s commitment to talent development and internal career progression. His sustained level of high performance in wide ranging roles throughout our international operations will serve him well in his new role.”
